Yerba Santa Flavonoids

Flavonoids are the largest class of plant polyphenols—biologically active compounds that play a key role in plant survival and protection. They are essential for the health and resilience of plant species in challenging environmental conditions. Flavonoids are known for their powerful antioxidant properties, enabling them to neutralize free radicals and protect plant cells from oxidative damage. Thanks to these antioxidant properties, flavonoids are also beneficial for hair beauty. By neutralizing free radicals, flavonoids derived from the Yerba Santa plant help protect hair follicles from oxidative damage (in vitro test on the active ingredient), which is crucial in combating hair weakening and supporting a healthy hair growth cycle. This protective action helps improve hair quality and density (in vivo test on the active ingredient). Arginine dipeptide plays an important role in the hair growth cycle. As a precursor of a key molecule involved in this process, it helps slow down hair loss. We selected the red algae extract Chondrus crispus (lat.) for its high concentration of arginine dipeptide. The algae are cultivated using a specific method known as 'overwintering,' which involves growing them under ice to promote the accumulation of active molecules within the plant. The concentration of arginine dipeptide in the algae we use allows targeted action on the hair growth cycle, helping to slow hair loss (in vivo test on the active ingredient).
