With this statement, Yves Rocher committed to his fellow citizens for the rest of his life. Interestingly, after so many years, the promise still stands...
In his hometown, he created the first cream, then a production facility, and later a botanical garden. In this way, he bestowed great potential upon a small village. The potential only grew, leading to the establishment of an Eco-hotel Spa, and in 2017, the unique Yves Rocher brand museum with flavors and scents from around the world. La Gacilly, the birthplace of the Cosmétique Végétale® concept, is also home to the globally renowned Photo Festiva
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION CHAIN IN OUR ORGANIC FIELDS
Since 1998, Yves Rocher has been cultivating over 60 hectares of organic fields, certified with the highest quality rating. Arnica, Chamomile, Marigold, and Edulis are just some of the crops we grow to ensure the most natural and entirely safe ingredients for our products.
BOTANICAL GARDEN
We firmly believe in the fusion of organic farming and biodiversity. Our agronomists strive to increase biodiversity across all our organic fields. For us, this concept defines agroecology – an attempt to surpass conventional organic methods. It means growing plants as individuals, complex living beings that gradually reveal the full range of their benefits.
BIODIVERSITY SANCTUARY
For over 10 years, we have collaborated with LPO (the French equivalent of "Bird Life International") to implement a biodiversity management plan at all our production sites.
BEEHIVES
Bees are excellent indicators of biodiversity. On our fields in La Gacilly, we host millions of bees!
We actively combat the decline in bee populations by caring for 200 beehives spread over 60 hectares of our organic fields. Thanks to our knowledge of the exact number of flowers we have planted, we can always ensure that there is enough nectar for all of them on an annual basis.
PRODUCTION
Our factories in Brittany produce over 300 million products annually, which we distribute worldwide. This directly and indirectly creates over 10,000 jobs in Brittany and the surrounding area.

PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL
Since 2004, the Photography Festival has offered visitors a multi-sensory experience: hundreds of photographs displayed on the streets and in the gardens, accessible to all, free of charge.
It is Europe's leading outdoor photography festival, held from June to September, and has welcomed up to 2 million visitors so far!

The eco-hotel & spa in La Gacilly is built to meet all environmental criteria. It holds the Green Globe and Ecolabel certifications.
